Get a lively imagionation the magnificent landscape of the Eichsfeld region, including Seeburg Lake, the German Timber-Frame Road and of course the Green Belt - a colourful Booklet about Duderstadt and te region Eichsfeld.
Dear Readers,
Welcome to one of Germany's most beautiful timber-framed towns,
welcome to a vibrant town, welcome to Duderstadt!
Duderstadt is home for me. I was born and went to school here, and it plays host to the headquarters of my company, Ottobock. The Eichsfeld region, also called the Tuscany of the North, made me who I am today. And I always enjoy coming back to visit, time and again. But Duderstadt isn't just where I come from - there's a whole lot of future in Duderstadt as well. This is further underscored by the 2020 Master Plan, compiled by a broad range of the local populace, which provides the road map for Duderstadt to forge its path into the future.
I want to give you an introduction to our town, and very personal insights into it, with the short stories in this little book. Get a feel for the atmosphere of this town, and draw inspiration from the magnificent landscape of the Eichsfeld region, including Seeburg Lake, the German Timber-Frame Road and of course the Green Belt, which is both a completely unique habitat and a memorial to the division of Germany. I'd like to invite you to come form your own impressions about Duderstadt and its residents. Perhaps when you do you'll meet some of the people who contributed to this book and whom I would like to take this opportunity to thank.
You'll see that you don't have to have been born here in order
to understand my love for Duderstadt.
Yours faithfully, Hans Georg Näder
